How walking an extra thousand steps a day can cut your risk of dying
Walking an extra one thousand steps a day can reduce your risk of dying by 15 percent, a new study has revealed.
The analysis by the European Journal of Cardiology has also found that even just adding 500 steps to your normal routine can reduce your risk of dying from cardiovascular disease by seven percent.
Doctor Sara Kayat said the benefits of walking are “huge” when she appeared on This Morning on Monday (4 March).
She said: “Walking is so underrated, it is a form of exercise that is available to everyone. “
