Thousands of tattooed inmates transferred to El Salvador ‘mega-prison’ in gang crackdown

Officials in El Salvador have released footage showing tattooed and shaven inmates being transferred to their new “mega-prison.”

The new Terrorism Confinement Centre in Tecoluca is now one of the world’s largest prisons and was built to relieve the country’s overcrowded jails.

This video shows the transfer as part of a major crackdown on gangs being carried out across El Salvador.

In the post sharing this video, the Presidency of El Salvador said the men in the video are bound for “decades behind bars.”
