Daring rescue of driver trapped in rushing flood waters captured in bodycam footage
A daring helicopter rescue by two pilots flying for the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust shows them plucking a trapped tanker driver from the flood waters of Kenya’s Sabaki river.
The pilots, Taru Carr-Hartley and Roan Carr-Hartley, managed to reach the driver, hovering just inches above him and the tanker he was clinging to last week.
The vehicle had been pushed onto its side and engulfed when a flash flood hit the Galana-Kulalu causeway.
Flooding in the area is a constant threat during the rainy season.
