Spectacular Pink supermoon rises in the Netherlands

April’s full moon, known as a “Pink Supermoon”, has lit up the night skies all around the world.

Stunning shots of the lunar surface were captured by photographers in the southern city of. Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

The moon appeared 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter than some past full moons, making it the brightest and most impressive full moon of 2021 so far.

The title of supermoon is granted to full and new moons that pass Earth at the closest point in their orbit, which in April and May will be less than 360,000km (224,000 miles).
