Spice Girl Mel B pleads with government to increase domestic abuse funding
Spice Girl Mel B pleaded for more for funding for domestic abuse charities in an impassioned speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday, 22 January.
The Leeds-born singer, 49, is a patron of Women's Aid, an organisation that works to end domestic abuse suffered by women and children.
Mel B, whose full name is Melanie Brown, has previously opened up about her experiences of domestic abuse.
Addressing the forum, Ms Brown said the government "allocate a little bit of money each year, but they end up spending millions because of the police service, because... they have to have a safe house."
