Watch as Biden delivers remarks on his Build Back Better plan
President Joe Biden is to make a speech on Wednesday (11 August) on his Build Back Better plan, which would cost $3.5 trillion and seek to invest in green infrastructure, while creating jobs for Americans.
On Tuesday, the Senate passed a $1 trillion infrastructure bill on Tuesday (10 August), with 19 Republicans joining all 50 Democrats in the chamber to approve $550 billion in spending on things like roads, bridges and rural broadband.
Republicans, however, are less warm on this more expensive plan – but the Democrats could still pass it via a process known as budget reconciliation, if needs be.
