Watch live as British Business and Energy Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng is taking questions from MPs as the government considers offering state loans to energy companies amid soaring natural gas prices in the UK.

The news came on Tuesday (21 September) that the UK’s sixth-largest energy company, Bulb, is seeking a bailout as a surge in gas prices threatens to cause chaos for the wider industry.

After this, Home Secretary Priti Patel is to update parliament on developments in the Sergei Skripal case after police charged a third Russian with the 2018 Novichok murder attempt.
