Father sends children to hug mother metres away from half marathon finish line

A father who appeared to send his children to hug their mother as she finished a half marathon in Brazil was filmed in a video that has angered many social media users.

In a TikTok video posted by @sinomar_reporter, a woman runs down a hill towards the Presidente Prudente race finish line as a man, who appeared to be the children's father, encouraged the youngsters to walk on the path towards her.

The runner swerved out of the direction of the group and crossed the finish line.

Since it was posted, the video has been viewed more than 11 million times and attracted many angry reactions.

"Let her have one thing without mum guilt," one X/Twitter user commented.
