Giraffe takes down rival with judo-like throw

In the above video, you can see the incredible moment one giraffe floors another by lifting one of its hind legs – and tossing it over in a manner that is similar to a judo fighter.

The incident took place at the Kariega Game Reserve in South Africa, and the guide can be heard saying: “That’s a first. Never seen that before”.

Giraffes are known to fight each other by hitting their long necks into the body of their opponent, but this technique of toppling their rival over by raising a leg is certainly rare.
