Sky News veteran Dermot Murnaghan signs off final show with Anchorman quote

Dermot Murnaghan hilariously quoted the much-loved Anchorman film as he signed off for the final time on Sky News.

“I always wanted to do this,” the broadcaster said, before tossing his notes over his shoulder and saying: “You stay classy planet earth, goodbye.”

Before his nod to the film, Mr Murnaghan told the viewers that they “make” the channel, thanking them for their engagement.

He anchored his final show 7pm on Tuesday, 28 February, after 15 years with Sky News.
