Plane bursts into flames on Carolina highway after making forced landing
Two people were hurt after a small private plane made an emergency landing on a North Carolina highway before catching fire on Thursday evening (15 December).
The plane was descending over I-26 north of Asheville when it hit powerlines according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The two people aboard the plane were able to get out before it caught fire, with only minor injuries.
They were taken to hospital after the plane went up in flames.
The interstate reopened Friday morning, according to the North Carolina Department.
