Rat interrupts Manchester United’s match against Southampton

A rat was seen running across Manchester United's pitch as they faced Southampton at Old Trafford on Thursday, 16 January.

The rodent scurried across the turf as Ruben Amorim's side came from behind to snatch a 3-1 win.

Footage of the animal's appearance on the ground was posted on Instagram by Ella Glaesener.

It came as Amad Diallo struck a 12-minute hat-trick in a dramatic finish.

The rat's presence prompted Glaesener to joke that the rodent became "United's twelfth man today."
