Dramatic bodycam shows moment hero police officer rescues woman from burning building
Dramatic bodycam footage has revealed the heroic actions of a police officer who rescued a woman from a burning building.
The incident unfolded in the early hours of July 19, 2024, at a house on Lingmell Close in West Bridgford.
Finding the front door ablaze and a woman trapped inside, officers sprang into action. While some tackled the flames, PC James Cantrill entered the smoke-filled house through the back.
He found the woman in an upstairs bedroom, staying with her until firefighters arrived. She was treated for smoke inhalation.
A man living at the address, Clive Hawker, 54, has pleaded guilty to arson and awaits sentencing.
