'A long time coming': Britons welcome Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal
Britons have welcomed the announcement of a potential ceasefire and hostage release deal, which was announced on Wednesday night after months of mediation by Qatar, Egypt and the US.
Various commuters outside London Bridge station shared their views as they travelled into work on Thursday, 16 September.
“I think it's been a long time coming. It's very, very good news. Hostages have been freed, which was amazing. But also the bombings have stopped," says 24-year-old consultant Shiv Khiroi.
The ceasefire accord, which is due to come into effect on Sunday, outlined an initial six-week halt to the 15-month-long Israel-Gaza war.
