Saudi conservationists ensure future of Arabian oryx

In 1972, the Arabian oryx was classed as extinct in the wild but thanks to a massive conservation effort by scientists at the National Centre for Wildlife in Saudi Arabia 1,200 animals now roam wild across the Kingdom with a further 6,000 to 7,000 in captivity.

The conservationists who brought them back from extinction are planning to do even more to ensure the Arabian oryx remains the soul of the desert and thrives in the wild.
