Lava bubbles up from new fissure in La Palma volcano
The volcano on Spain’s La Palma island is still erupting more than two months after the initial volcanic activity started, with new fissures in the land opening up.
The Cumbre Vieja volcano continues to threaten residents on the island, 1,500 buildings and some 2,800 acres of land being covered in the molten magma thus far.
There has also been constant seismic activity from the eruption, with hundreds of small tremors regularly recorded each day from the volcano.
