Lil Nas X reveals debut album Montero release date

Lil Nas X has revealed his highly anticipated debut album Montero will be released on 17 September and described the process of making the album as “therapy”.

The 22-year-old hip-hop star, who has established himself as one of pop music’s most exciting young talents, said making the record has helped him to learn “to let go of trying to control people’s perception of who I am”.

The Grammy-winner, whose real name is Montero Hill, shot to fame in 2019 following the unprecedented success of the now ubiquitous ‘Old Town Road’.
