Petrified FSU students take shelter under tables during shooting as alarms sound
Petrified Florida State University students hid under tables after a shooter opened fire at the Tallahassee campus on Thursday (17 April).
Two people were killed and six others injured after a shooter opened fire at Florida State University’s Tallahassee campus.
The suspected gunman, 20-year-old student Phoenix Ikner, opened fire near the student union building at around lunchtime.
Student Sophia Weimar filmed students hiding as alarms sounded.
She said: “Our room is fishbowl-esque, so our immediate thought was to go as high up as possible. We ran into people from Art Education who let us into their conference meeting room. That’s where we were able to take shelter.”
