Whole country ‘distraught’ over Arthur Labinjo-Hughes murder, says education minister
Nadhim Zahawi, the education secretary, has said the “whole nation is distraught” after the death of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes.
Speaking in the House of Commons, he also announced an investigation into the “tragic and horrific” circumstances surrounding his murder.
“The whole nation is distraught,” Mr Zahawi said.
“We across this House and across this country find it impossible to imagine how any adult could commit such evil acts against a child.”
Six-year-old Arthur was subject to cruel torture from his stepmother, Emma Tustin, and father, Thomas Hughes before he was killed in June 2020.
