Drone footage captures moment sharks surround ‘frightened’ snorkelers
Drone footage has captured the moment sharks surround “frightened” snorkelers swimming in the sea near Israel.
Ilan Elgrably was flying his drone when he spotted four divers enjoying the sights of the water.
Footage shows a group of sandbar sharks swimming over to the snorkelers who apparently don’t notice them until one of the animals rubs up against them.
Taken completely by surprise, one of the snorkelers begins thrashing around before two of them end up hugging together for protection.
Ilan said: “Sandbar sharks are pretty much harmless, really inoffensive animals. They would never have bitten the snorkelers at all.”
