London remembers 9/11 on 20th anniversary of attacks
A host of ceremonies were held across London to commemorate 9/11 on the 20th anniversary of the attacks.
Historian Dan Snow hosted a memorial event at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – and firefighters from Stratford Fire Brigade held a minute’s silence to make the occasion.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson also released a video message saying that the attacks failed to “shake belief in freedom and democracy” around the world. There were also memorial events held in New York, Pennsylvania and at the Pentagon in the US to mark the day that nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives.
