Watch: Police remove car after it crashed into Downing Street gates

A police recovery truck removed a car after it collided with the gates of Downing Street in London on Thursday afternoon (24 May).

The silver Kia drove into the gates after crossing Whitehall.

Armed officers arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage and dangerous driving, the Metropolitan Police said.

Authorities confirmed that no-one was hurt.

At this stage it is understood that counter-terrorism police are not involved in the investigation and enquiries are ongoing.
