Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, is to lead a press briefing on Tuesday evening, on the same day that Vice President Kamala Harris urged Americans to sign up to receive tax cuts as part of a ‘day of action’.

In a speech made earlier on Tuesday, Ms Harris said: “Our message today is simple: If you are eligible for the Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit, we want you to get those credits. And you know why: Working families deserve a break.”
